Start off by clicking Wireless on the left hand side of the page. Beneath that, make sure the option labeled Basic is selected.

Change the WiFi Settings on the TP-Link TD-W8910G

Here you will enter your desired network name into the box labeled SSID. Your network name can be anything you like, but it would be best to avoid any personal information. To learn more, click this link.

Before leaving this page, make sure to click Save/Apply.

Now click the tab marked as Security on the left hand side of the page.

Now you should be on the page you see above.

Start out by opening the drop down menu labeled Network Authentication and selecting WPA-PSK. To learn more about wireless security, check out our guide.

Now you need to set your password. In the box marked WPA Pre-Shared Key, enter your desired password. For helpful tips on how to create a strong password, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Open the drop down list labeled WPA Encryption and choose AES.

When you're finished, make sure to click Save/Apply.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
