How to Reset a TRENDnet Router

Resetting a TRENDnet router clears all of its settings and puts the default password back. It's the fix for a forgotten password or a broken setup.

Before You Reset

A reset isn't a restart. A reset erases your WiFi settings, port forwards and Internet login. Write down anything you'll need again, such as your ISP's PPPoE username and password.

Method 1: The Reset Button

1. With the router on, use a paperclip to press and hold the Reset button on the back for about 15 seconds.
2. Let go and wait about two minutes while the router restarts.

Some older TRENDnet models need 30 seconds. If the default password doesn't work afterward, do it again and hold the button longer.

Method 2: Reset From the Web Interface

• Newer TRENDnet routers: Advanced > Administrator > Settings Management (or System Management). Click Restore to Factory Defaults, or Reset.
• Older TRENDnet routers: Tools > Settings (or Management > Settings Management). Click Reset next to Restore to Factory Defaults.

After the Reset

1. Connect with the default WiFi details on the label.
2. Log in at http://192.168.10.1 (or 192.168.0.1) with the default password. See the TRENDnet login guide.
3. Set your Internet connection, a new admin password and your WiFi again.
