Setup WiFi on the Ubee DDW 3611

The Ubee DDW 3611 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The Ubee DDW 3611

To get started configuring the Ubee DDW 3611 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Ubee DDW 3611

  • Select WIRELESS at the top of the page.
  • Select Primary Network in the left sidebar.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Ubee DDW 3611

You should now be on the Wireless Primary Network page of the Ubee DDW3611.

  • Use the space titled Network Name (SSID) to enter a new name for your network. It really doesn't matter what you enter here but we recommend avoiding personal information. To learn more, check out this Wireless Name Guide.
  • Now take a look at your four different security options, WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, and WPA2-PSK. For the best security, disable all of them except WPA2-PSK. If you are interested in learning more about the different security types, check out this guide.
  • Set the WPA/WPA2 Encryption to AES.
  • The last setting that needs to be changed is titled WPA Pre-Shared Key. This is the network password and should be strong. We recommend using at least 14 to 20 characters here. For more help, check out this Password Guide.
  • Click the Apply button and you are finished.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
