Encryption

We start this wireless setup guide on the Status page of the US-Robotics USR5465 router. To begin configuring your wireless settings, click Wireless at the top of the page.
Change the WiFi Settings on the US Robotics USR5465
This takes you to a new page.
Start by entering your desired network name into the box labeled Network name. For more information on wireless network names, see our Wireless Names Guide.

Click Save before leaving this page.
No click the tab labeled Security at the top of the page.
You should now be on the page you see above.
Set the Method to WPA2(PSK). To learn why this is the best option, take a look at our WEP vs. WPA Guide.
Next make sure the Encryption is set to AES. You can now enter your desired password into the box marked Pass phrase. A strong password consists of 14-20 characters and should contain no personal information. For more tips on creating a strong password, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.
Make sure to click Save before leaving the page.
Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
