This guide begins on the Router Status page of the Verizon MBR1515LVW router. Begin by clicking the option at the top of the page labeled Wi-Fi Settings.

Then under that, select the new option of Wi-Fi Profile.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Verizon MBR1515LVW

On this new page, the first setting you should definitely change is titled Name (SSID). This is the network ID and should be recognizable to you. It can be anything you like but we suggest avoiding personal information for your personal security. To learn more, check out this guide.

The second setting is called the Region. Make your region is selected here.

Below that is the Mode. The default setting of 802.11 b/g/n is correct one to be on.

Now we come to the Security Options. There are five different options here. For the best security we recommend the choice of WPA2-PSK [AES]. To learn what this means, check out this guide.

The last setting is labeled Passphrase. This is the internet password and should be strong. It's a good idea to use at least 14 to 20 characters here. If you need further help, check out this guide on passwords.

That's it, just click the Apply button and you are finished.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
