Change the WiFi Settings on the WiFiRanger Elite
This takes you to a new page.
Start by entering your desired Network Name into the given box near the top of the page. This can be anything you like, however we recommend avoiding any personal information. To learn more, be sure to take a look at our Wireless Names Guide.
Now open the drop down menu on the right hand side of the page labeled Type and set it to WPA. Want to know why this is important? Read our WEP vs. WPA Guide to find out.
Beneath the Private Broadcast heading, start by entering the same network name you entered above into the box marked Broadcast SSID.
After that, you'll need to set a WPA Key. This will be your network password, and can be whatever you want. However, we recommend keeping it 14-20 characters in length and avoiding any personal information. For more helpful tips like these, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.
Finally, be sure to set the Encryption Type to WPA2 AES.
Congratulations! That's all there is to it. Just don't forget to Save your settings before closing the page.
Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
