WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The WiFiRanger Marine 2

Find the WiFi Settings on the WiFiRanger Marine 2

The wireless setup guide for the WiFiRanger Marine2 v6 router starts on the Main page. To begin configuring your wireless settings, click the WiFi tab located near the top of the page.

Change the WiFi Settings on the WiFiRanger Marine 2

On this new page, start by deciding on a Network Name and entering it into the given box at the top of the page. This can be whatever you like, however we strongly suggest avoiding any kind of personal information. To learn more about wireless names, be sure to take a look at our guide.

After that, open the drop down list on the far right hand side of the page marked Type and set it to WPA. Want to learn why this is important? Check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Now go down to the Private Broadcast setting and enter the network name you entered above into the box labeled Broadcast SSID.

Following that, you'll need to set a WPA Key. This will be your network password, and should consist of 14-20 characters and no personal information. For more tips on creating a strong password, see our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Finally, be sure that the Encryption Type is set to WPA2 AES.

That's all there is to it. Just don't forget to Save your changes before leaving.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
