The ZyXEL P-2812HNU-F1 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.
Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Picking a WiFi channel is not always a simple task. Be sure to read about WiFi channels before making the choice.
You should almost definitely pick WPA2 for your networks encryption. If you are unsure, be sure to read our WEP vs WPA guide first.
To get started configuring the ZyXEL P-2812HNU-F1 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

We begin this wireless setup guide on the System Info page of the ZyXEL P-2812HNU-F1 router. To start configuring your wireless settings, click Network Setting at the bottom of the page. Then at the top of the page click General.
Start off by setting an SSID. This will be your network identification and can be anything you want, though we recommend avoiding any personal information. Enter your desired network name into the box labeled Wireless Network Name(SSID).
Now for the Channel Selection. Make sure this is set to either 1, 6, or 11.
Make sure that the Security Mode is set to WPA2-PSK for the strongest security.
Now you'll need to set a password. This can be anything you like, though we recommend keeping it 14-20 characters long and avoiding any personal information. Enter your desired password into the box marked Pre-Shared Key.
Finally, be sure to Apply your settings before leaving the page.

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
