Login To The Airlink 101 AR695W

Starting on the System Status page of the Airlink 101 AR695W router click the option near the top of the page labeled Advanced. Then a new menu appears to the left of the page, tick the new option of Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Airlink 101 AR695W

  • Find the box labeled Network ID (SSID) and enter a new name in this box for your home network. It doesn't really matter what you enter here but we recommend avoiding personal information. Read our Wireless Names Guide for more information on the topic.
  • Scroll down a little farther and find the Channel. You may want to change the channel if you are not receiving the reception you thing you should. Make sure when you change it that you remain on channel 1,6, or channel 11. Read our WiFi Channels Guide to learn why.
  • Don't use WPS. WPS is a weak link in the security system. Read our What is WPS Guide for more information on this topic.
  • Below that is the Security. There are several choices here, the WEP vs. WPA guide explains the differences. We recommend selecting the option of WPA2-PSK.
  • Select AES as your Encryption method.
  • The Preshare Key Mode should be set to ASCII.
  • Finally there is a box for the Preshare Key. This is the password that you need to type into all the wireless devices you want to connect to this network. Make sure that this password is strong. We recommend at least 14-20 characters. It should also contain at least one symbol, number, and capital letter.   • Click the Save button.

These changes do not take effect until the Airlink 101 AR695W router is rebooted.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
