Amped Wireless R10000 Port Forwarding Instructions

This page will show you how to setup a port forward on the Amped Wireless R10000 router.

Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Amped Wireless R10000 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Amped Wireless R10000

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Amped Wireless R10000 router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Amped Wireless R10000 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Amped Wireless R10000

Once you have logged into the Amped-Wireless R10000 you begin on the Welcome page. First click the link on the left side of the screen labeled More Settings. When more choices appear below this, click Firewall Settings, then Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Amped Wireless R10000

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on the correct page. First put a check mark in the box labeled Enable Port Forwarding.

Next, enter the IP Address that you are forwarding these ports to in the box labeled IP Address. If you are forwarding a port or ports to run a program on your computer, then make sure that this is the IP Address of your computer.

Down below this is the Protocol drop down menu. Here you choose the type of protocol you wish to use for these ports.

Next is the Port Range. If you are forwarding a single port enter that number in both boxes. If you are forwarding multiple ports enter the lowest number in the range in the left box and the highest number in the right box.

Last of all is the Comment box, what you write in here needs to remind you of why you are forwarding these ports, such as a program name.

When you have finished, click the green button labeled Apply.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Amped Wireless R10000 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
