This guide covers how to reset the Amped Wireless RTA15 router. It needs to be noted that a reset is different from a reboot. Rebooting your device is simply turning it off and back on again to cycle the power. Resetting a router is almost as easy but has a lot more consequences because it erases any changes you have made to your machine.
Warning: Please take a minute to make a note of what you have changed to this router. Once the reset is complete everything you have done to the router previously will be erased. Below we have a partial list of settings that will change.
- The router's main username and password
- The WiFi username and password
- ISP username and password
- Any and all configurations you have made previously including port forwards and firewall changes.

Reset the Amped Wireless RTA15
The first thing to do when resetting a router is keep the device on. At no point during the reset process should you unplug or turn off the Amped Wireless RTA15 router. Doing so could cause permanent damage to the device.
Now locate the tiny reset button. Normally this will be located on the back panel. We have circled it in the image below.
Take an unfolded paperclip or pin and depress the reset button for about 10 seconds.
Remember this erases all configurations you have made to your device and should only be done if you have exhausted other troubleshooting methods.

At this point the Amped Wireless RTA15 router is reset. You now need to login to the router using the factory default username and password. We have found these for you and can be found in our Amped Wireless RTA15 Login Guide.
Change Your Password
After logging in to the Amped Wireless RTA15 we strongly recommend changing this password. If you have trouble coming up with strong passwords check out our Creating a Strong Password guide.
Tip: Write this new router password down on a piece of paper and attach it to the bottom of the router for future reference.
Setup WiFi on the Amped Wireless RTA15
The last setting we urge you to change is the WiFi settings. Remember these are reset as well. Some router companies like to leave the default WiFi security set to open or disabled. This means everyone can use your Internet connection with or without your permission. We recommend changing this to WPA2-PSK for the strongest encryption. If you need help in this area read our How to Setup WiFi on the Amped Wireless RTA15 guide.
