In this guide I will show you how to reset the Asus RT-ACRH13 router back to the original factory default settings. A reset is not the same as a reboot. A reboot is cycling the power to the unit. You can do this by turning the device off, waiting about 30 seconds and turning it back on again. A factory reset is different, it erases every setting you have ever changed in the past.

Warning: Settings that will change include:

  • The Router username and password
  • The WiFi username and password
  • If this is a DSL router, you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for this information.
  • All other settings you have changed such as port forwards and IP addresses.

Change Your Password

Most router encourage you to change the router's username and password as soon as you login the first time. This is strongly recommended because most router usernames and passwords are very easy to guess. To create a secure password, follow the directions in our Choosing a Strong Password guide.

Tip: In order to avoid losing the router's username and password in the future, write it down on a piece of paper and tape it to the bottom of the router.

Setup WiFi on the Asus RT-ACRH13

It is also very important that you check the security of the router before using it to access the Internet. The strongest form of WiFi security and encryption is WPA2 Personal with AES and a strong Internet password.

Unfortunately we do not have the screenshots available for this router to create a network security guide. We need your help if you own this router. Please click this link to learn more.
