How to Reset the Billion Bipac 7404VPNX

On this page we discuss the basics of resetting the Billion BiPAC-7404VPNX router back to factory settings.

First, let's differentiate between resetting and rebooting a router. To reboot a router means to cycle the power to the device. This can be done a couple different ways. One common way is to unplug the power cord from the router, wait about 30 seconds, then plug the power back in. The other term is to reset the router. This is where every setting on the device is erased and put back to how it was from the factory.

Warning: Resetting the router can be problematic if you don't anticipate the changes that will happen. We recommend creating a list of settings you know will change. We started this list for you:

  • The router's username and password.
  • The Internet name, password, and security method.
  • If you use DSL you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. To find out what these are call your Internet Service Provider.
  • Have you changed anything else on your router? Have you ever made any port forwards or IP address changes? Everything you changed is erased and needs re-configuring.

Reset the Billion Bipac 7404VPNX

The first step in resetting a router is to know where the tiny recessed button is located. On this model you can find it on the back panel of the device. We have circled it in the image below.

Now due to the small and recessed nature of this button take a sharp pencil or pen and press down on the button for at least 6 seconds. If you don't hold the button down for a full 6 seconds you may only reboot the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Please be aware that this erases every setting you have ever changed on this device. We recommend trying other options before deciding to reset the router.

Login to the Billion Bipac 7404VPNX

Change Your Password
