Setup WiFi on the Billion Bipac 7404VPNX

You begin on the Status page of the Billion BiPAC-7404VPNX router. To configure the WiFi settings, click the link on the left side of the page labeled Configuration. This opens a new menu, pick LAN, then Wireless.

The next thing on this page that needs to be changed is the Channel ID. You can change the channel if you are not getting the reception you think you should. You need to be using channel 1,6, or 11. Click the Apply button.

After this, click the link in the left sidebar labeled Wireless Security.

You are now on the page you see here. Use the first drop down menu labeled Security Mode to choose WPA2-PSK. For more on this topic, click the link titled WEP vs. WPA.

The next option may be WPA Algorithms. This is the encryption technique that you will use when transmitting your information. The two choices available is TKIP and AES. TKIP is older and has some flaws. We recommend using AES, this is a much more secure option.

The last thing on this page is the WPA Shared Key. Use this box to create a strong password. This is the password you use to access your local network. We recommend using at least 20 characters in this password. Don't use any personal information. Don't use any words that can be found in a dictionary. Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
