Here on this page I will be showing you how to properly reset the Binatone DT850W router back to the original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When I use the word reboot I am referring to a cycle in the power to the unit. When I use the word reset I am referring to a complete restore of all settings to the original factory default parameters.

Warning: A reset like this is a big step and should not be taken lightly. Make a list of all settings you can think of that you have changed in the past. Consider the following:

  • The router's main username and password are erased and reverted back to how they were from the factory.
  • The Internet name and password are erased and reverted back to how they were when they left the factory.
  • If you are resetting a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider username and password. Call your local ISP for the details.
  • If you have made any other changes such as IP addresses or port forwards you need to write them down so you can remember to reconfigure them later.

Reset the Binatone DT 850W

Do you know where the reset button is located on this device. We unfortunately don't have the Binatone DT850W image. But the reset button should be located similarly to the router you see below. You will be looking for a tiny reset button that is most likely recessed into the device itself to avoid accidental resets.

router reset factory settings
This is the reset page from your Binatone DT 850W router.

While the router is on, take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. Make sure that you hold the reset button down for the entire 10 seconds or you might end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Remember this reset is going to erase every single setting you have ever changed on your router. We strongly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you continue.

Login to the Binatone DT 850W

After the reset is complete you should login using the defaults from the factory. We have these ready for you in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults in the login guide didn't work it may be because you didn't hold the reset button down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Now you need to change the default password you just used. Use our Choosing a Strong Password guide to help you create a strong password.

Tip: One way to avoid losing this password too is to write it down on piece of paper and attach it to the bottom of the router for next time you need it.

Setup WiFi on the Binatone DT850W
