Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Buffalo WBMR-125G to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Login To The Buffalo WBMR-125G

Forward a Port on the Buffalo WBMR-125G router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Buffalo WBMR-125G

This guide begins on the Gateway Information page of the Buffalo WBMR-G125 router. To forward a port, click the choice at the top of the page labeled Gaming Ports, then below that choose Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Buffalo WBMR-125G

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You should now be on a page like the one you see above.

In the first empty row, in the Application box, enter the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for. This is for your information only.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number in the box Start, and again in the End box. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of the range in the Start box, and enter the highest number in the range in the End box.

Next is the Protocol drop down menu. Choose the type of protocol you want to use from this menu.

Moving to the right is the IP Address. Enter the local or LAN IP Address of the computer or device you are forwarding these ports to.

Click the small Enable box.

Tick the Apply button, and you are finished!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Buffalo WBMR-125G you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
