When you reset a router you are taking all the settings and returning them to factory defaults. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the device. This page goes over how to reset the Cisco Linksys-E4200 router.

Warning: Resetting this router can cause additional problems for you if you don't understand what settings have been changed. We recommend that you consider the following:

  • The Internet name and password are reverted back to factory settings.
  • The router's main username and password are returned to factory settings as well.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. These can be gathered from your local Internet Service Provider.
  • Now make a list of any other settings you may have changed in the past. This may include port forwards or maybe IP address changes.
