Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Comtrend CT-5367 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Comtrend CT-5367

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Comtrend CT-5367 router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Comtrend CT-5367 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Comtrend CT-5367

This is the status page from your Comtrend CT-5367 router.

You start on the Device Info page of the Comtrend CT-5367 router. To forward a port, click the option in the left sidebar labeled Advanced Setup. A new menu now appears below that, pick the one titled NAT, then Virtual Servers.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Comtrend CT-5367

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are then directed to a page like the one you see here.

First, tick the button at the top labeled Add.

This in turn, takes you to a new page, which unfortunately we do not have a screenshot for.

On this new page, you first, tick the radio button labeled Custom Service, and enter the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for in the box provided. This is not critical to the process, but would be a good idea for your future reference.

Next, is the Server IP Address. Enter the LAN IP Address of the computer or device you are forwarding these ports to.

If you want to forward only a single port, enter that number in the:

  • External Port Start
  • External Port End
  • Internal Port Start
  • Internal Port End

If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the boxes labeled External Port Start, and Internal Port Start. Enter the highest number of the range in the boxes, External Port End, and Internal Port End.

Use the Protocol drop down menu to choose the type of protocol you are going to use while forwarding these ports.

When you are finished, click the Save/Apply button, this is found in the upper half of the page.

Congratulations, you're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Comtrend CT-5367 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
