If you've reached this page it's likely you are considering a reset to solve a problem you are having with your Cradlepoint MBR95 router. This guide will show you how to reset the Cradlepoint MBR95 router back it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. A reboot is a way of cycling the power to the router. This solves some minor behavioral problems you may be experiencing with your device. A reset is done if you have forgotten your password or something similar. A reset takes all the settings and returns every one of them back to factory defaults.

Warning: A factory reset is a big step and shouldn't be taken lightly. Make sure you fully understand that all settings you have changed in the past will be "forgotten". Please consider the following before you continue:

  • The router's main username and password are erased and returned to original factory settings.
  • The Internet settings such as the SSID and password are also placed back to original defaults.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP username and password. This information can be found by calling your local Internet Service Provider.
  • If you have made any other changes like DNS or port forwards these are erased. Make note of any settings you will need to re-enter after the reset is complete.

Take something small like the end of an unfolded paperclip to press and hold this reset button down for a full 10 seconds. This initiates the reset process. If you don't hold the button down for long enough you end up simply rebooting the router instead of resetting it. This can cause a lot of confusion because then the default values don't work.
