Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Digisol DG-BR4000N to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Digisol DG-BR4000N

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Digisol DG-BR4000N router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Digisol DG-BR4000N router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Digisol DG-BR4000N

This is the setup page from your Digisol DG-BR4000N router.

You begin on the Home page of the Digisol DG-BR4000N router. Click the link titled General Setup. At this point a new set of choices appears on the left side of the screen, tick NAT.

If you are forwarding only one port, click the choice of Virtual Server. If you are forwarding a range of ports, click the option of Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Digisol DG-BR4000N

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

To Forward a Single Port:

Place a checkmark in the box labeled Enable Virtual Server.

Next, enter the LAN IP Address of the specific computer you are forwarding this port to in the box labeled Private IP.

Enter the port number in the Private Port box, and again in the Public Port box.

Then, use the Type drop down menu to choose the type of protocol you need to use when forwarding this port.

Enter the name of the program in the box titled Comment. This isn't very important, but more for your future information.

Click Add and you are done!

To Forward a Range of Ports:

First, place a checkmark in the box labeled Enable Port Forwarding.

Second, enter the specific LAN IP Address of the computer you are forwarding these ports to in the box, Private IP.

Then, use the Type drop down menu to choose the type of protocol you need to use when forwarding this port.

Enter the lowest number of the range of ports, in the upper Port Range box, and the highest number of the range in the lower Port Range box.

Next, enter the name of the program in the box labeled Comment.

Click Add.

Congratulations, you did it!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Digisol DG-BR4000N you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
