Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink AirPlus DI-624S to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Dlink AirPlus DI-624S

Forward a Port on the Dlink AirPlus DI-624S router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink AirPlus DI-624S

Beginning on the Setup Wizard page of the Dlink DI-624S Router, click the choice at the top of the page labeled Advanced. Then on the left side of the page, click the Virtual Server option.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Dlink AirPlus DI-624S

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on the correct page to forward a port. This router only allows for single port forwards. If you are forwarding more than one port, you have to create a new forward for each additional port.

Tick the Enabled dot.

Enter something that reminds you of why you are forwarding a port in the Name box. We suggest entering the program name.

In the Private IP box, enter the specific internal IP address of the computer you wish to forward these ports to. If you are unsure, clicking this link takes you to our guide on how to find your computer's internal IP address.

Next is the Protocol Type. Select the type of protocol or transport you need to use while forwarding this port.

Enter the port you want to forward in the Private Port box, and again in the Public Port box.

Choose Always for the Schedule.

Finally, when you are done, click Apply.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink AirPlus DI-624S you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
