Setup WiFi on the Dlink AirPremier DI-784

Login To The Dlink AirPremier DI-784

Starting on the Home Wizard page of the Dlink DI-784 router click the choice on the left side of the page labeled Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Dlink AirPremier DI-784

On this new page, change the SSID. This is the name you give your wireless network so that you can identify it later on. Be creative but don't use any personal information. To learn more, read our Wireless Names Guide.

Below that is the Channel drop down list. Be sure it is on channel 1,6, or 11. To learn why, read our WiFi Channels Guide.

Now, find the Authentication. This is the security mode. We recommend using the WPA-PSK. To learn what the differences are, read the WEP vs. WPA Guide.

A box now appears that asks for a Passphrase. This is the password you use to gain access to your wireless network. Be sure this password is more than 14 characters long. This password should contain a mix of symbols, numbers, and letters. To learn more about this, read our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Enter this password one more time in the Confirmed Passphrase box.

That's it, just click the Apply button and you are finished.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
