How to Reset the Dlink Airspot DSA-3100

On this page we will be showing you how to reset the Dlink DSA-3100 router. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the device. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We recommend making a list of the settings you know will be erased. This list should include any changes you have ever made to your router since you got it from the factory. Consider the following:

  • The router's interface username and password are erased and replaced with the original factory defaults.
  • Any other changes such as port forwards or parental controls are erased and need to be reconfigured.

Reset the Dlink Airspot DSA-3100

First, you need to find the reset button on the back panel of the device. For this router it is found on the back panel of the device.

Take a bent paperclip and press down on the reset button (circled in the image above) for about 10 seconds. This initiates the reset process which could take a minute or more. If you don't hold this button down for long enough it will simply reboot the router instead of resetting it.

Remember this reset erases every single setting you have ever changed on this device. We recommend trying other methods of fixing your problem before you decide to reset.

Login to the Dlink Airspot DSA-3100

Once you've reset the Dlink DSA-3100 router you'll need to log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password provided for you in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it might be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Tip: To keep from losing your new password write it on a note and tape it to the underside of your router.
