Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address
Port forwarding the Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.
Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.
Login To The Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall
To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall router
Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall
Beginning on the System Status page of the Dlink DFL-1100 router, click the option at the top of the page, in blue labeled Firewall. Then, on the left, click the link titled Port Mapping.
Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall
Now to forward a port, make the following changes:
You should now be on a page similar to the one you see above. In the center section of the page, click the blue link of Add new.
You are now on a page where you can create a new port forward.
The first box is titled Name. This is for your reference, we suggest entering the name of the program you are forwarding these ports for.
The next three boxes, Source Nets, Users/Groups, and Destination IP should all be left blank.
In the Service drop down menu, select the type of protocol you need to use to forward these ports.
Leave the Custom Source Ports blank.
Enter the port or ports you want to forward in the destination ports. You can enter them several ways:
- A list, 80,82,85.
- A range, 80-100.
- A combo of both, 22,25,80-100
Pass to port can be left blank.
The Pass To box needs to contain the local IP address of the specific computer you are forwarding these ports to.
In the Schedule drop down menu, choose Always.
Click the green Apply button at the bottom of the page.
That's it, you did it!
Test if Your Ports are Open
Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink DFL-1100 Firewall you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
