Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500 to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500 router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500

You start on the Home page of the Dlink DGL-4500 router. First, choose the option, in orange, at the top of the page labeled Advanced. Then, the left sidebar has a new menu, choose Gaming.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

Now on this new page, begin in the section labeled ADD GAMING RULE.

Place a checkmark in the small Enabled box.

Type in the name of the program in the box titled Name. This is not crucial to the process but highly recommended for your reference.

Next is the IP Address, enter the IP address of the specific computer you are forwarding these ports to.

Enter the ports you are forwarding in the TCP Ports box, and the UDP Ports box. These can be entered a few different ways:

  • As a list, such as 80,51,87
  • As a range, such as 500-600
  • As a combination of both, for example 57,80,500-600

Below that is the Schedule. Select Always from this drop down menu.

Then, use the Inbound Filter drop down menu to choose Allow All.

Click the Add button below that.

Finally, click the Save Settings button near the top of the page.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Dlink GamerLounge DGL-4500 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
