Setup WiFi on the Draytek Vigor 2130n

Find the WiFi Settings on the Draytek Vigor 2130n

This guide begins on the Home page of the DrayTek Vigor2130n router. To configure the WiFi click the link in the left sidebar labeled Wireless LAN. Then, beneath that, in the submenu, pick General Setup.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Draytek Vigor 2130n

First, you need to change the SSID. Enter a new name in the box available. It is not important what you write here, but we advise you to avoid personal information. To learn more, read our Wireless Names Guide.

Next is the Channel. Make sure you are on channel 1,6, or 11. To learn why these three channels are important, read our WiFi Channels Guide.

At this point, highlight the button labeled SSID 1. This should cause an Encryption choice to appear. Choose the option of WPA-PSK. Read our WEP vs. WPA Guide for more info.

The Type should be set to WPA2.

Change the WPA Algorithm to AES.

Finally, change the WPA Pre-Shared Key . This is the password you use to access your network. Use at least 14 characters in this password. Learn to create a strong and memorable password, by clicking this link.

That's it, just click the OK button before exiting.

You may need to restart your router before these changes take effect.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
