How to Reset the Edimax BR-6215SRG

If you can't login to the Edimax BR-6215SRG router you may need to reset it.

  • Reboot - is a cycle in the power to the device.
  • Reset - is a complete factory restore of all settings. All previously changed settings are erased and reverted back to how they were from the factory.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be taken lightly. You need to re-setup the router after the reset is complete. Everything personal is lost. Consider the following before continuing:

  • The router's main username and password are erased and reverted to factory defaults.
  • The Internet name and password are also lost and returned to how they were from the factory.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your local ISP for the details.
  • If you have made any other changes such as IP addresses or port forwards you need to reconfigure these after the reset is complete.

Now that you have considered the consequences of this reset you need to find the reset button. Take a look at the image below. The reset button is circled in red for you.

Take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for at least 10 seconds. This begins the reset process which can take up to a minute or more to complete.

Login to the Edimax BR-6215SRG
