Have you tried and failed to login to the Hama DR-20 router? It might be time to consider a reset.

You might be confused by the word reset. When I use the word reset it does not mean a reboot. The word reboot is simply referring to cycle in the power to the unit. The word reset is referring to a full factory restore of all settings.

Warning: A reset erases every single setting you have ever changed on your device. We recommend creating a list of all possible settings you have changed on the router before you begin. Some of these settings are:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The WiFi information such as SSID and Internet password.
  • port forwards to help run a program smoother.
  • Changes in IP addresses.

Reset the Hama DR-20

Take a look at the image below. This is what the back of the Hama DR-20 router looks like. Notice that the reset button is on the right side of the back panel. Go ahead and locate this on your router.

Due to the small size of the reset button you need to take a small object such as a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for more than 5 seconds. This needs to be done while the router is on. If you don't hold the reset button down for at least 5 seconds you might end up rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Login to the Hama DR-20

Following that you'll need to log into your Hama DR-20 router. This is accomplished by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where to get these? We have them listed for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it might be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Once you've logged into your router we recommend setting a new password for it. This can be whatever you like, however bear in mind that a strong password contains no personal information and is 14-20 characters in length. For more help be sure to check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Prevent yourself from losing your new password by writing it on a note and attaching it to the bottom of your router.
