If you have tried to login to the Huawei B660 router unsuccessfully you might need to consider a reset.

This reset is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the unit. This is done by unplugging the power source, waiting about 30 seconds then plugging the power back in. A reset takes all the settings and reverts every one of them back to how they were from the factory.

Warning: A reset is a big step and shouldn't be taken lightly. We recommend creating a list of possible settings you have changed in the past. For instance:

Now take a bent paperclip or other similar object and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds, until all five indicators on the front of the device begin to blink. The router needs to be on in order for this to work. If you don't wait until all five indicators begin to blink you may end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Remember a reset is erasing every single setting you have ever changed on the Huawei B660 router. Please consider other options first before you decide to reset the Huawei B660 router.

Login to the Huawei B660

Now that you've successfully reset your Huawei B660 router you'll need to log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password provided for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: Defaults not working for you? It could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

After you've logged into your router we recommend setting a new password for it. Keep in mind that this password will only protect your router settings, not your wireless network. All the same, setting a strong password is always a good choice. For help in doing so be sure to check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Afraid of losing your new password? Try writing it on a sticky note and attaching it to the underside of your router.
