This takes you to a new page like the one you see here. The first thing you may need to change is the Channel ID. Make sure the channel is set to channel 1,6, or 11. Read our WiFi Channels Guide for more information on this topic.

A little farther down this page find the box titled SSID. This is the name you create in order to identify your network. It doesn't really matter what you enter here but we recommend avoiding personal information. To learn more about this topic, read our guide titled How to Change your Wireless Name.

Now find the drop down menu titled Authentication Type. We strongly recommend the option of WPA2-PSK. To learn why this is the best option, read our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.

Set the Encryption to AES.

The last thing you need to do is change the Pre-Shared Key. This is the password you use to gain or restrict access to your network. We recommend using at least 14-20 characters in you password. Try to avoid information that may be easy to guess. For more tips on this topic read our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

That's it, just don't forget to click the Submit button before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings
