Setup WiFi on the Inteno DG201-R1B

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The Inteno DG201-R1B

Change the WiFi Settings on the Inteno DG201-R1B

On this page you'll need to set an SSID. This will be your network identification and can be anything you like. However, due to security reasons, we recommend avoiding any personal information. To learn more, see our Wireless Names Guide.

Now click Security in the left hand sidebar.

This should take you to the page you see above.

First, make sure that Enable WPS is set to Disabled. To find out why this is important, read our What is WPS Guide.

Next, open the drop down list marked Select SSID and choose the SSID you just created.

Now make sure the Network Authentication is set to WPA2 -PSK. This will provide you with the strongest security. Take a look at our WEP vs. WPA Guide to learn how.

After that you'll need to set a WPA/WAPI passphrase. This will be your network passphrase and can be anything you like. However, a strong passphrase consists of 14-20 characters and contains no personal information. For more help, check out our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Finally, set the WPA/WAPI Encryption to AES.

That's all there is to do. Just be sure to click Apply/Save before leaving the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
