If you have been trying to login to the Iskon A1521-I router without success it might be time to consider a reset. There is some confusion on what a reset is. A reset in this guide is not a reboot. A reboot is a cycle in the power to the device. A reset takes all the settings in the router and reverts every single one of them back to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We strongly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you decide to reset. It's also a good idea to create a list of all the possible settings you have changed in the past. Some of the more common settings include:

  • The WiFi SSID and password.
  • The router's main username and password.
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the Internet Service Provider (ISP) username and password. Call your ISP for these details.
  • Have you ever forwarded ports or changed an IP address? These settings are also erased and you need to remember to reconfigure them as well after the reset is complete.

While the router is on, take a straightened paperclip and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. This begins the reset process. If you don't hold the reset button down long enough you might end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Warning: Do not unplug or turn off the router during the reset process. This could cause irreversible damage.

Remember this reset is erasing every personal change you have made to this device. We strongly encourage you to exhaust your other options first.

Login to the Iskon A1521-I

Once you've reset the Iskon A1521-I router you'll want to log into it. This is done by using the factory default username and password. Not sure where you can find these? We have them listed for your use in our Login Guide.

Tip: If the defaults aren't logging you in it could be because the reset button wasn't held down for long enough.

Change Your Password

Now that you've successfully logged into your router we recommend setting a new password for your router. Keep in mind that this password will only protect your router settings, not your wireless network. Still, setting a strong password is always a wise decision. For more help be sure to take a look through our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your new password by writing it on a sticky note and attaching it to the bottom of your router.
