This page will guide you through resetting your Linksys E1200 router. When you reset your Linksys E1200 router it reverts to its original factory settings. This is different than rebooting your router which simply means turning your router off and then back on again to cycle the power.
Warning: Resetting your router should not be taken lightly. There are several things that need to be considered first:
- The router user name and password will be reset to the factory defaults.
- Your WiFi username and password will revert to factory defaults.
- The ISP username and password may have to be re-entered. You may have to call your ISP for these details.
- Any other configurations you have made such as port forwards and firewall settings have to be entered again.

Reset the Linksys E1200
While the router is on, turn it over so you are looking at the bottom.
Take the end of a paperclip or pin and press the small reset button on the bottom of the Linksys E1200 for 10 seconds.
Remember that this erases all of your settings. This should not be done unless all other methods of troubleshooting have been exhausted.
Login to the Linksys E1200
Once you have reset your Linksys E1200, you can now login to it using the default username and password. Click this link to take you to the E1200 login page.
Change Your Password

Tip: Write your new password on a post-it note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
Setup Wifi on the Linksys E1200
