How to Reset the Linksys SPA-3102

On this page I will show you how to reset the Linksys SPA-3102 phone adapter.

A reset is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the unit. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return them to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router is a big step and should not be taken lightly. I recommend making a list of all the possible settings you have changed during the lifetime of the router. Some of these settings could be:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • Any port forwarding you have done.
  • IP addresses that have been changed.
  • Parental controls, DNS, etc...

Reset the Linksys SPA-3102

To reset the Linksys SPA-3102 phone adapter you may need to call your ISP for the password. Your ISP may of disabled the Web based utility.

If you know the password to unlock your web based utility type it into the keypad on your phone.

  • A, B, C, a, b, or c - press 2
  • D, E, F, d, e, or f - press 3
  • G, H, I, g, h, or i - press 4
  • J, K, L, j, k, or l - press 5
  • M, N, O, m, n, or o - press 6
  • P, Q, R, S, o, q, r, or s - press 7
  • T, U, V, t, u, or v - press 8
  • W, X, Y, Z, w, x, y, or z - press 9
  • all other characters - press 0

When you are able to use the web based utility type into the keypad on your phone ****

Wait until you hear Linksys configuration menu. Please enter the option followed by the # (pound) key or hang up to exit.

At that point go ahead and press 73738#.

Confirm your request by selecting the 1 or cancel the request by clicking the * button.

When confirming your choice you should hear Option Successful at which point you can hang up.

Remember this reset erases every personal setting you have ever changed. DO NOT unplug or turn off the router during the reset process. Doing so could result in permanent damage to the device. I strongly recommend trying other troubleshooting methods before you decide to reset the Linksys SPA-3102 phone adapter.

Login to the Linksys SPA-3102

Change Your Password

The password for your phone adapter should be changed as soon as possible to keep your adapter secure. Try to make your password unique and about 20-14 characters long. If you need any extra help on coming up with a password, visit our Choosing a Strong Password guide.

Tip: Avoid losing your password by writing it down on a piece of paper and attach it to the underside of the device.
