This article covers how to reset the Sagemcom Fast 5250 router back to factory default settings. Resetting a router is different than rebooting a router. Every time your router loses power it reboots. This is different from a reset because a reset completely erases all settings from the router.
Warning: Since this erases everything you have done to the router, there are some things you need to consider first. When you reset your router, the following will happen.
- The router's username and password are reset.
- All WiFi login information and network names are reset.
- All ISP settings will reset to default, and you may have to contact your ISP.
- All port forwards, firewall settings, and parental controls that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. You should be sure that you have tried to at least recover your router password using our Router Password Finder before resorting to a router reset.

Recover Password in Sagemcom Fast 5250

Reset the Sagemcom Fast 5250
Usually there is a reset button located on the back or bottom of a router. Look for something that looks like this:
Your reset button may look different, but usually they are very small. Sometimes the button is under a pinhole, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Hold the reset button down for 10 seconds and watch the lights. You should notice that the blinking pattern of the lights on the front of the router changes after a few seconds. Keep holding the button as long as you want, it will not hurt anything to hold it down too long.
Remember, this will totally reset your Sagemcom Fast 5250 router.

Login to the Sagemcom Fast 5250

Change Your Password

Tip: After creating this new password, we highly recommend writing this down on a post-it note and attaching it to the bottom of your router for future reference.
