Setup WiFi on the Sitecom 300N X4

Login To The Sitecom 300N X4

To get started configuring the Sitecom 300N X4 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the Sitecom 300N X4

Let's begin this wireless setup guide on the Status page of the Sitecom 300N X4. Select the option of Wireless at the top in brown. Then below that, choose Basic.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Sitecom 300N X4

  • Using the drop down list titled Enable SSID#, choose a number for your SSID. Most will simply use the number 1.
  • Below that in the space titled SSID1, or whatever number you have chosen, enter a new network name. This should be unique to you. It really doesn't matter what you enter here but don't use the router make or personal information in this name. Find out more in our Wireless Name Guide.
  • Directly under that is the Channel. Use channels 1,6, or 11 here. Find out why this is important in our WiFi Channels Guide.
  • Click the Apply button in the lower right corner of the page.
  • Select the tab at the top titled Security.

  • Use the drop-down list titled SSID Selection to choose the SSID you just created on the previous page.
  • Locate the Encryption and using the drop down list choose the security you want to use for your network. We recommend using WPA pre-shared key.
  • Then below that choose WPA2(AES) as the WPA Type. To learn more about the different security options, click this link.
  • The Pre-shared key Type should be set to Passphrase.
  • Finally you need to change the Pre-sharedKey. This is the password you use to protect your internet. It is strongly recommended that you create a strong password of at least 14 to 20 characters. Try to use some capital letters, numbers, and symbols to make your password even stronger. We have more ideas for you in our Password Guide.
  • That's it, simply click the Apply button before you exit.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
