Setup WiFi on the Trendnet TEW-652BRP

The Trendnet TEW-652BRP router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

Login To The Trendnet TEW-652BRP

After you have logged into the TRENDnet TEW-652BRPv2 you should begin on the Device Information page. Click the link titled Wireless, then Basic.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Trendnet TEW-652BRP

You are then taken to the page you see here. First you should change the SSID. This is your identification and should be unique to you. This can be just about anything you like but it's a good idea to avoid personal information. To learn more, check out this guide.

The other setting that can be changed if necessary is the Channel If you are not on channels 1,6, or 11 uncheck the Auto Channel box then choose the appropriate channel from the drop down list titled Channel. If you want to know what makes these three channels so special, check out this guide.

Then click the option in the left sidebar titled Security.

The first setting on this new page is titled Authentication Type. Use this drop down list to choose the best security for your network. We recommend the security of WPA2. Find out why in this guide.

Don't forget to save your changes before you exit by hitting the Apply button near the bottom of the page.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
