This is the reset guide for the ZTE F680 router. This is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. A reboot happens every time a router loses power. This is very different from a reset, which erases a router completely and returns it to factory default settings.
Warning: Since this erases everything you have done to the router, there are some things you need to consider first. The following settings will be changed in your router:
- The router's login and password are reset to factory defaults.
- All WiFi settings are reset, including network name and password.
- If your router has any ISP settings they will be removed, and you will have to contact your ISP.
- Any firewall settings, parental controls, or port forwards that you have configured will be removed.
A router reset should be considered the last resort when you cannot log in to your router any other way. Make sure that you have tried to recover your router password using our Router Password Finder first.

A router reset should be the last thing you try if you are unable to login.
Reset the ZTE F680
Most routers have a small button on either the back or the bottom. Look for something that looks like this:
Yours may look slightly different, but they are usually tiny. Sometimes the reset button is under a pinhole on the back of the router, and you need a paper clip to push it.
Watch the front panel lights while you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds. The lights on the front of the router should do something different when the reset happens. Do not be concerned about holding the reset button down too long. It will not hurt anything.
Keep in mind that this will completely reset your ZTE F680 router.
Only do this once you have exhausted all other troubleshooting options, such as running our Router Password Finder software, which can recover a lost router password for you.
Login to the ZTE F680
Now that you have finished resetting your router, you need to log in using the default username and password from the factory. You can follow the F680 Login Guide to find everything that you need to log in.
Change Your Password

Tip: Put your new password on a post-in note and stick it to the bottom of your router.
