Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Port forwarding the 2wire 2700HG-D to your computer can be more reliable if you first configure a static IP address on your computer. We have instructions to setup a static IP address for Windows 7, Windows 8, and a variety of other devices on our Static IP Address Settings page.

Please note that while setting up a static IP address on your computer is optional, it is still a very good idea to go ahead and do it. In the long run it will make your port forward much more reliable.

Login To The 2wire 2700HG-D

To get started forwarding a port you need to login to your 2wire 2700HG-D router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Forward a Port on the 2wire 2700HG-D router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the 2wire 2700HG-D

Now that you have finished logging into the 2Wire 2700HG-D vQT04-6.1.5.48 you begin on the Modem Status page. First, to begin port forwarding, click the red choice called Advanced Setup. Next, on the left find the heading of Security, click the choice below this labeled Advanced Port Forwarding.

Configure the Port Forwarding section of your 2wire 2700HG-D

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

You are now on a page like the one above, labeled Advanced Port Forwarding. If you want to forward a single port, then enter that port number in the box labeled Starting Port, and again in the Ending Port. If you are forwarding multiple ports enter a range of ports in these boxes by entering the lowest number of the range in the Starting Port box and the highest number of the range in the Ending Port box.

Choose the protocol type by using the drop down menu labeled Protocol.

Next, in the box labeled LAN IP Address enter the port that you want these ports to be forwarded to. If you are forwarding ports for a program on your computer, you need to use the computer's IP Address.

After you have made these changes, click Apply.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the 2wire 2700HG-D you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
