This guide will cover how to reset the Actiontec V1000H v31.30L.33 router to factory defaults. Resetting the router is not the same as rebooting the router. Rebooting is simply cycling the power by turning it off and back on again. Resetting is more involved and reverts all the setting back to how they were from the factory.

Warning: Resetting the router is not something that should be done often. If you need to reset the router there are a few things that you should consider first.

  • The router's main username and password are reset.
  • The WiFi username and password are reset to factory defaults.
  • If you use a DSL connection you will need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. If you are unsure of these details, call your ISP.
  • Finally, everything you have done to this router to personalize it will be erased. This includes firewalls, port forwards, and even IP address changes.
