On this page I will be showing you how to reset the Asus RT-AC3200 router back to factory defaults. A reset is not a reboot. When I use the term reboot I am always referring to a cycle in the power to the unit. When I use the term reset I am always referring to a complete factory restore of all settings. This means every single setting you have ever changed is reverted back to how it was when it left the factory.

Warning: Every setting or configuration you have made to this device is erased. This is a big step and should not be taken lightly. We strongly recommend making a list of all the settings you may have changed during the lifetime of this router. Settings you may not have considered are:

  • The router's main username and password
  • The Internet name and password
  • If this is a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP(Internet Service Provider) username and password. Call your ISP for the details.
  • Have you ever made any other changes to this device? This would include port forwards, IP address changes, DNS changes... etc.
