In this guide we will show you how to reset the Ativa AWGR54 router. There is confusion between resetting a router and rebooting a router. When a reboot is done it is simply cycling the power by turning the power off and back on again. Resetting a router does a lot more. In a true reset the router is returned completely to factory defaults.

Warning: Resetting this router can cause problems for you if you don't know what to expect. We recommend creating a list of settings you know you have changed. Please consider the following before you continue.

  • The router's interface username and password are returned to their default values.
  • If you use a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP (Internet Service Provider) username and password. If you aren't sure of those you need to call your ISP.
  • The WiFi section of your router has been returned to default. This includes the SSID, password, and security method.
  • All personally configured settings are erased. This could include anything. Popular settings to change are port forwards, parental controls, and IP addresses.
