Setup WiFi on the Belkin F7D7301

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The Belkin F7D7301

Find the WiFi Settings on the Belkin F7D7301

Starting on the Status page of the Belkin F7D7301v1 router, click the link on the left titled Channel and SSID. This can be found under the heading of Wireless.

Change the WiFi Settings on the Belkin F7D7301

Here on this page, you first need to check the Wireless Channel. Make sure you are on channel 1,6, or 11. These three channels are the most you can get out of the spectrum without overlapping. The other thing that needs to be changed is the SSID. This is the name you give your wireless network so you can identify it. Create a unique name that avoids personal information. For more on this topic, check out our guide titled Wireless names.

That's it, just click the Apply Changes button. Then, in the left sidebar click the link titled Security.

On this page, use the Security Mode drop down menu to choose WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK). For more information on this topic, check out our guide titled WEP vs. WPA.

Next is the Authentication. This is just further narrowing down your choice you made above. Pick WPA2-PSK.

Lastly, use the Pre-Shared Key (PSK) box to choose a strong secure password of at least 20 characters. This password should not contain any personal information or words that can be found in a dictionary. For more on this topic, check out our guide titled Choosing a strong password.

Click the Apply Changes button and you are finished.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
