How to Reset the CD-R King IP04177

This page shows you how to reset the CD-R-King IP04177 router back to it's original factory defaults. This is not the same thing as a reboot. When you reboot the router you are cycling the power to the device by unplugging the power, waiting a bit, then turning the power back on. When you reset a router you are erasing all the settings and returning them to factory defaults.

Warning: This reset is a serious step and it can cause problems if you don't know what settings are going to be changed. It's a good idea to make a list of all the settings you know about that will be changed.

  • The router's main username and password
  • The Internet password and name
  • The Internet Service Provider username and password if you own a DSL router. You need to call your ISP for more information on that.
  • Have you made any other changes to your router? Everything you changed will need to be reconfigured.

Reset the CD-R King IP04177

The first step is to locate the reset button. Typically the reset button is found on the back or side panel of the device like the picture below:

Using the end of a paperclip press down on the reset button for a minimum of 10 seconds. This initiates the reset process. If you don't hold the button down for the entire time you may only reboot the device instead of resetting it like you wanted.
