You begin on the Home page of the Creative Network-Blaster-CW2202-5. To configure the WiFi settings, click the option in the left sidebar labeled Wireless

This takes you to a page similar to the one you see above. First, in the Wireless SSID box, enter a name you like. This is the name you will give your local network so that you can identify it when needed. Read our guide on the topic called Wireless names.

In the Channel ID drop down box choose from channel 1,6, or 11. These channels are the only one you should be using due to overlap with the other ones. To learn more, read our guide titled WiFi Channels.

Next is the Security. Use the Network Authentication list to choose WPA-PSK. The best choice would be WPA2-PSK and updating your firmware should allow for this better option. Read our WEP vs. WPA guide for more information.

We recommend setting the Data Encryption to AES. This is the most secure option right now.

Below that is the Pre Shared Key. This is the password you use to gain access to your network. Create a strong password by following our guide on Choosing a strong password.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
