On this page I show you how to reset the Cyberoam NetGenie back to original factory defaults. This is not the same as a reboot. Rebooting this router is simply a way of cycling the power to the device in order to solve most behavioral problems your router may be having. Resetting your router is taking all your settings and returning them to factory defaults.

Warning: Be careful when resetting this router as problems will occur if you don't understand what settings are changed. Please consider the following:

  • The router's setup pages are reset to factory defaults.
  • The Internet username and password are also reset to factory defaults.
  • If you have a DSL router you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider's username and password in order to use the Internet again. Call your ISP for more details.
  • If you have ever made any other changes to your router you need to re-enter these after the reset process is complete.

Take the tip of an unfolded paperclip and press down on the button for about 10 seconds. This begins the reset process. If you don't hold the reset button down for long enough you end up simply rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Remember this reset is going to erase every personal change you have ever made to your router. We recommend trying other troubleshooting methods before you do a reset.
