On this page I will be showing you how to reset the Linksys WRT350N router back to factory defaults.

There is a lot of confusion between a reset and a reboot. When you reboot a router you cycle the power to the unit. When you reset a router you take all the settings and return them all to factory defaults. All your personal data is lost.

Warning: Resetting the Linksys WRT350N router is a big step. Please don't take this lightly. I recommend making a list of all the possible settings you have changed in the past. This list should include:

  • The router's main username and password.
  • The WiFi settings such as Internet password and SSID or network name.
  • Are you resetting a DSL router? If you are you need to re-enter the ISP or Internet Service Provider username and password. Call your ISP for these details.
  • What other settings have you changed? Don't forget to include port forwards or IP address changes.

Reset the Linksys WRT350N

Below is the back panel image of the Linksys WRT350N router. This button has been circled for you in red. Notice how small this button is. You will need to use an object that is small enough to fit into the small hole.

The first step to this reset is to make sure the Linksys WRT350N router is plugged in and turned on.

The second step is to take a sharp object such as a straightened paperclip or pen and press down on the reset button for about 10 seconds. If you don't hold this reset button down for long enough you end up only rebooting the router instead of resetting it like you wanted.

Warning: DO NOT unplug or turn off the router during this process. Doing so can result in permanent damage to the device.

Please remember a reset like this one erases every single setting you have ever changed in the past. I strongly recommend trying other methods of troubleshooting before you continue.

Login to the Linksys WRT350N

Now that the Linksys WRT350N router has been reset you will need to login to it. To do this you will need to use the default IP address, password, and username. Not sure what these are? You can find all the information you need to login to your router in our Linksys WRT350N Login Guide.

Tip: If you can't login with the defaults then it is possible that the router was not properly reset. Try resetting it again but this time hold down the reset button for a little longer.

Change Your Password

After you successfully login to your Linksys WRT350N router you should consider changing the password from the default. The default password is easy to guess so leaving it in place can put your router at risk. Try to make your new password 14-20 characters long. Visit our Choosing a Strong Password guide if you need any help getting started on making a secure password.

Tip: Avoid losing your password by writing it down on a piece of paper and then attaching it to the underside of the router.

Setup WiFi on the Linksys WRT350N
