Setup WiFi on the TP-Link Archer D9

The TP-Link Archer D9 router is considered a wireless router because it offers WiFi connectivity. WiFi, or simply wireless, allows you to connect various devices to your router, such as wireless printers, smart televisions, and WiFi enabled smartphones.

WiFi Terms

Before we get started there is a little bit of background info that you should be familiar with.

Login To The TP-Link Archer D9

To get started configuring the TP-Link Archer D9 WiFi settings you need to login to your router. If you are already logged in you can skip this step.

Find the WiFi Settings on the TP-Link Archer D9

Once you've logged into the TP-Link Archer D9 router you should be taken to the Home page. To change your wireless network settings click Quick Setup on the left hand side of the page.

This brings you to a new page.

Start out by making sure the Wireless option is set to Enable.

Next you'll need to set a Wireless Network Name. This can be whatever you want, however we highly recommend avoiding the use of any personal information. To learn more visit our Wireless Names Guide.

Now select the radio button labeled WPA/WPA2-Personal (Recommended). This will provide you with the best security. For more information check out our WEP vs. WPA Guide.

Finally you'll need to set a Password. This can be anything you like. However, bear in mind that a strong password is 14-20 characters in length and avoids the use of any personal information. For more helpful hints like these be sure to take a look through our Choosing a Strong Password Guide.

Possible Problems when Changing your WiFi Settings

After making these changes to your router you will almost definitely have to reconnect any previously connected devices. This is usually done at the device itself and not at your computer.
