Reset the ZTE ZXHN H168N

This is the reset guide for the ZTE ZXHN H168N router. A router reset is a much bigger deal than a router reboot. Unplugging a router from the wall reboots it. Resetting a router erases all settings from it and returns it to factory defaults.

Warning: Before you proceed, there are a few things you need to know. When you reset your router, the following will happen.

  • The router's username and password are reset to factory defaults.
  • All WiFi settings are reset, including network name and password.
  • Your ISP username and password will be reset, and you may have to contact your ISP.
  • All parental controls, firewall settings, and port forwards will be removed.

Resetting your router should be considered the last step. Before you reset your router, you may want to try recovering your router password with our Router Password Finder.

You can usually find a small reset button on either the back or the bottom of a router. This is what a typical reset button looks like:

Even though yours may look slightly different, you need to look for a tiny button. You may need a paper clip to push the reset button.

Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds while watching the lights on the front of your router. Notice how the lights on the front of the router are blinking. When the lights do something different, the router is reset. You can hold the button down as long as you like, it will not hurt anything.

Remember, this will totally reset your ZTE ZXHN H168N router.
