Configure your Computer to Have a Static IP Address

Forward a Port on the Belkin F5D8635-4 router

Find The Port Forwarding Section of the Belkin F5D8635-4

Once you have finished logging into the Belkin F5D8635-4v1 you are taken to the Status page of your router. The first step to the port forwarding process is to find and click the choice on the left labeled Virtual Servers, this is under the heading of Firewall.

Now to forward a port, make the following changes:

Now you should be on the page labeled Firewall>Virtual Servers. First, place a check mark in the box labeled Enable.

To the right of this is the box labeled Description. In this box enter the name of the program or something that will help you remember why you are forwarding these ports.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter the port number in both of the boxes under the heading of Inbound port and both of the boxes under the heading of Private port. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number in the left box of both the Inbound port and the Private port. Enter the highest number of the range in the right box of both the Inbound port and Private port.

Next is the Type drop down menu. Use this menu to choose the type of protocol you are going to use when forwarding your ports.

In the Private IP address box enter the IP address you are forwarding these ports to, for example if you are forwarding ports to run a program on your computer, be sure to use that computer's IP address here.

After click the Add button and the Apply Changes button you have finished. Congratulations!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports on the Belkin F5D8635-4 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
